Q4. The language at the Day Care is all English?

At our Day Care rather than English education, but also most important is a lifestyle of trust building with the children. And when we guide the children in English and there is a child who does not understand, there will be Japanese staff speaking some Japanese from time to time. If a guardian wants the staff to speak all in English to the child, then before entering the Day Care the child needs to understand a little Basic English or it is going to be difficult for the child. For Fine Kids International members we will given a separate sheet with day to day conversation written on it to practice at home.
For example:
"Do you want to Pee-pee?"
"Go and Use the bathroom."
"Wash your hands."
"Take off your shoes."
"Don't hit your friends!"
Like such as these, even though the staff speaks English directly to the children, then if the children do not understand, a child that knows how to use the restroom and can not make up his mind will wet his/her pants, or children get in a fight and are blamed they become confused and there is no answer from them, so without basic English it will be difficult for the child to understand.
For that reason for those children that completely do not understand English, in the beginning stage we try to speak English to the children with a Japanese staff assistance to speak Japanese and we establish the children's understanding of the native teachers instructions. Even children who do not understand English, in about 2 month they start to understand a few vocabularies very quickly, like "Wash your face!", "Go to the bathroom!", "Take out the crayon!", "Sit on the chair!", are a few basic phrases they will start understanding. Again, for those children that have not grown-up around a English speaking family or for a long period of time, an English speaking environment can get stressful for them. It is still extremely difficult for the children to express themselves in English, so the staff will adjust English and Japanese depending on the child's condition. Since the child is going to enter our Day Care, English can be learned at the Day Care. We urge you to speak little hours of English and practice what your child has learned at the Day Care, and please give your child confidence to practice English with you at home.
For long hours we try not to give too much stress on the children and make a fun English speaking environment, and putting English lessons, so for the full time course students they can spend the whole day with 100% English speaking environment, so think how difficult it is for the child.

Q5. What are the requirements for entrance into the Day Care?

Can one child enter without knowing English?

Not turning in important application forms.
Not have any intention in purchasing school supplies.

Q6. How are the classes divided and the teachers assigned?

There are 2 classrooms and the morning meeting and exercise is done together. When the English lessons start, then it is divided into 2 classes; we divide the ages by 2 1/2 years `3 years old.
For difficult group work classes such as phonics, writing or craft, we include the Japanese teacher to support the children and divide the class into 3 groups. To make classes better the teachers and staff exchange ideas and discuss about how to improve the children's ability and how they can precede the classes. Go back to questions
------------------------
Q7. Are the Day Care hours flexible?

The hours are flexible; however, if one can not make it during roll call, we will tell you about what time to come in advance.
At 9:00 a.m. activities will start, so if one is late we will count it as a tardy. Coming after 9:00 a.m. when activities already started, we will count that as tardy. Also, when activities start and when a child comes in at the middle of an activity, it can distract other children, so without calling us in advance and one coming into class after 10:00 a.m. can not enter.
Morning course or Half Time course children hold a greeting and play time from 9:00 a.m. ` 1:00 a.m., so for those who missed the time and suddenly sit down in the desk, you child or other children can not focus well. If you want your child to study well you have to a custom your child to a neat rhythm lifestyle. Go back to questions

Q18. During school time what is the dress code (shoes)?

What kind of clothing is appropriate?
When the Day Care sees the child is able to walk, then the Day Care will give some advice about getting shoes, please get ones that are not easy to fall in and flat soled that are not hard (the soles that are flexible) rubber soles, ones that are easy for the children to put on easily, and make sure the shoes open up widely and has a big Velcro. Also, get ones with a lot of breathing space.
On the inside of the sole of the shoes write your child's name in large letters with a marker. After the child's feet get better and stronger pleas get him/her slip on shoes. On the back part of the shoes put a string through so that it is easier for the child to put on the shoes. The number one point is find shoes that they can put on on their own. Shoes like sandals with part of the feet sticking out or leather shoes which they can not put on on their own are prohibited. Go back to questions
